Website redesign and development for leading wellness products brand
Background
Founded in 1972 by two pharmacists, Windmill Health Products began as Windmill Natural Vitamins, supporting independent retail pharmacies with quality nutritional supplements. Today, Windmill Health Products’ 20+ brands can be found at stores like Whole Foods, Rite Aid, Costco, Amazon, Walmart, and many other health product retailers.
After undergoing a brand revamp, Windmill needed a website refresh to reflect its new look, as well as to provide a better user experience through intuitive web design and mobile optimization.
The Website
We worked closely with Windmill’s team to create a light, bright website that communicated the brand’s health-focused vibrancy and clinical authority. This included building out branded subpages for the company’s 20+ brands, as well as incorporating a new and improved “Pharmacist Corner” specifically for independent pharmacies.
HOMEPAGE DESIGN
Windmill’s new homepage is easy-to-navigate, image-heavy, and spacious enough to engage users without overwhelming them. The hero image slider features Windmill’s most popular brands and links directly to each of their respective pages for easy browsing. Lastly, we replaced the old website’s dark blues and greens with lively yellows, golds, and cozy earth tones to better align with Windmill’s updated brand.
Toward the bottom of the page, we direct users to the most frequently visited pages: Pharmacist Corner, Product Search, and Store Locator.
Incorporating New Brands
Windmill Health Products houses more than 20 different health supplement brands, in addition to its original, name brand vitamin line. All of Windmill’s brands needed landing and product pages to reflect their distinct brand identities, while still staying true to Windmill’s core brand aesthetic. Our design team created custom brand templates which allowed each brand to shine on its own.
Improving the Pharmacist Experience
Additionally, we created a Pharmacist Corner, where retailers can log in, place orders, see product specials and new products, and enter seasonal contests. This section of the site allows retailers to have full control and detailed records of the products they purchase, and its design is completely mobile-optimized.
The Results
Windmill’s new website has been largely successful in increasing brand awareness, as well as streamlining retail order management. Windmill continues to expand into new wellness markets, and we continue to work with their team to launch new websites for their latest brands.
